Support Group Leader
Hello! I'm Rachael... a Midwest transplant from California, I've lived in Champaign for 9 years. I've been serving families as a birth doula for 11 years, postpartum doula for 4 years, and working with a home visiting agency for 2 years. I'm just starting the MSW program at the U of I and excited to learn about more support options. Parenting is hard work! I love to connect people to services and community resources. My goal is to make sure everyone feels secure in their role as a parent and that they know where to turn in a hard moment. I can't wait to get the next support group started!

Cassie Bestor, LCSW

Therapist, EMDR Trained
Hello! I'm Cassie and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to serve you as part of The Village. People of all walks of life are often told to "ask for help"...perhaps you're here because you know just the help you need or you are looking for guidance to define what "help" even means for you. I'm happy to meet you where you are and walk with you through the next steps, seasons, and beyond. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the CU area I have worked in both the medical and mental health realms. I witnessed great resilience of parents working through the myriad of situations and emotions, some expected, some not, that come with the journey. I look forward to talking with you!

Rebecca Freeman, MSW, LSW

Therapist
Hello! I am Rebecca. Parenting is one of the most joyous and difficult ‘hats’ I have ever worn. I have had the privilege of working with children and parents in different capacities for most of my career. Every parent could use a space to process life and receive unconditional and nonjudgmental support. Empathizing and encouraging are strengths I bring to the therapeutic relationship. I am especially passionate about working with parents and families who live the shift work or first responder life. I would love to walk alongside you and your family in this journey of parenting.
